Baked Camembert with Pomegranate Molasses and Thyme

Christmas is just around the corner and if you are anything like me you will still be rushing around getting all the things you need for Christmas. In some way Christmas day is a bit like going on a ride at Disney! You queue for hours and the ride is over in minutes. But even though it will take days and weeks and some of us months to get ready for this one day, it is still worth it. The looks on your family faces as they open the gifts especially if you have kids. Everyone is happy falling asleep in front of the TV after indulging in hugh amount of great food that you have spent days preparing.
Great family + Good food = Happiness what more can you ask for.
But if you having to find yourself stuck for something to feed the family and friends with during this festive season. The baked Camembert recipe below from Mr M will be your life saver this Christmas. I cannot think of an occasion that you cannot serve this easy and delicious dish.

Mr M made this for us a few weeks ago when Marisa came down to visit. It was so yummy that I have to ask him to write for me. So below is his recipe and I hoped you will enjoy it as much as we did.

It would be more than fair to say that I am not a dedicated follower of fashion. I buy clothes when I need them and usually when out of style. I don’t sport a beard, have arms full of tattoos or own a single speed bike. Although I like to think my taste in music is quite eclectic, I’m sure I haven’t bought anything new since the end of the 90’s.
So it was with a little trepidation that I picked up the bottle of Pomegranate Molasses that Mrs. M had placed in front of me. Pomegranate Molasses, the uber cool, trendsetting ingredient of the year. This year’s answer to last year’s Smoked Paprika. It has been everywhere. In every food magazine, championed by every celebrity chef, bought the world over and now sitting at the back of every kitchen cupboard (the trendy, bohemian kitchen cupboards that is).
But what to do with it? Some quick research revealed hundreds of recipes. Apparently you can use Pomegranate Molasses with pretty much anything so after a quick route around in the fridge I was off.

Baked Camembert with Pomegranate Molasses and Thyme

You will need

1 Small wheel of Camembert
2tbs Pomegranate Molasses
1 sprig of Thyme
Sea Salt

Pre-heat an oven to 180C / 350F.
Remove the Camembert from its box and packaging. Place the base of the empty box into the lid of the box to make a strong container.
Slice the outer skin from the top of the cheese and set aside. Place the cheese back into its box (sliced side up) and top with the Pomegranate Molasses, thyme and a sprinkle of salt.
Replace the outer skin on top of the Camembert, place the box onto an oven tray and then bake in the middle of the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is oozing.
Serve with crusty bread for dipping.

Will I be buying skinny jeans? No.
Will I be getting a 1920’s haircut? No.
Will I be trying out this recipe again and experimenting more with Pomegranate Molasses? Most definitely.
