BBQ Red Cabbage with Yellow beans and Ginger Dressing
A great vegetarian dish for your BBQ this Summer. The dressing adds a spicy meatiness to the red cabbage.

For the cabbage
  • 1 Red Cabbage
  • 1 Vegetable stock cube
  • 2tbs olive oil
For the dressing
  • 10 g coriander
  • 10 g ginger – peeled and sliced
  • 1tbs white wine vinegar
  • 3tbs some brown sugar
  • 2 bird’s eye chilli
  • 1tbs cool boiled water
  • 2clove garlic – peeled
  • 3tsp yellow beans
  • 1/2tbs Soy Sauce
  • 1tsp dark soy sauce
  1. Cut the red cabbage in to 8 quarters – trying not to let the cabbage falls apart. Secure the red cabbage with bbq sticks.
  2. Mash the vegetable stock with olive oil and combine with the red cabbage.
  3. Make the sauce by adding all the ingredients into a blender and blend till smooth. taste and adjust as require. it should be salty, sweet with a hit of spiciness and sour.
  4. BBQ the red cabbage for about 20 – 30 minutes depending on the heat on your BBQ. The cabbage should be soft but still has a bite in it.
  5. Pour a few spoons of the dressing on to the cabbage to serve. served the remaining dressing for your guest to help themselves.
