Shawarma are a Middle Eastern dish, I am not going to get into the argument as to which country its originate from but you will find Shawarma recipes in most of the Middle Eastern country.
Like a lot of recipe that I have research into, there seems to be no one defined recipe for Shawarma. Like always I have picked ingredients I like (and had in my cupboard) to create this recipe.
The fun part of this recipe is the cooking and the eating of it. Shawarma are always thinly sliced and to be able to do this at home we are going to skewer the chicken and stand it on an onion for us to sliced the chicken like they do from a kabab shop.
Try cooking the recipe with your children by using this easy Chicken Shawarma PDF.
We served our Chicken Shawarma with homemade flat bread, salad and chilli yoghurt.
