Stir fried prawns with chilli and Thai basil
One wok wonder dish that is perfect for all the family to enjoy. A popular Thai recipe adapted to be more children friendly.

Ingredients
  • 200g Raw king prawnspulled, deveined and cleaned
  • 1 onionsliced
  • 100g mangetoutthinly sliced
  • 3cloves garliccrushed
  • 1 red chillisliced
  • 3tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1/2tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1/2tbsp fish sauce
  • 1tsp sugar
  • 50ml water
  • 1handful Thai basil
Instructions
  1. As all Thai recipe – firstly make sure you have all the ingredients ready to hand. You can if you want to, measured out all the sauces together in a bowl and have it ready.
  2. Add a drop of oil (any) into a wok with the crushed garlic then turn the heat on and cook the garlic for 1 minutes. Just to soft it but not brown.
  3. Once the pan is really hot add in the prawns and give it a quick stir then leave it to cook for no more than 1 minutes. Add in the mangetout and all the sauces and sugar. give it a good stir.
  4. Now add in the onion, stir again. The prawns should now turn pink and cook through. add in the water a bit at the time to your liking. Taste and adjust as needed.
  5. When you are happy with the flavour turn off the heat add in the chilli and basil and give it one last stir and you are done. Served with That rice or add in pasta to make a great pasta dish.
